Photography Gear

Unfortunately this is the post that everyone should ignore. It’s a list of my current photography gear, and also a list of things that I want to get in the future. Basically for my purposes just so that I can remember how much I’ve spent, and how much I’m potentially going to spend (it doesn’t bear thinking about).

Current Gear

  • Canon EOS 350D - £450
  • Canon EF-S 18-55mm - kit lens
  • Sigma 70-300mm APO DG - £170
  • Canon NB-2LH Battery x3 - £6
  • Canon RC-1 Remote - £11
  • Cheap UV-filter x2 + CPL filter - £15
  • SanDisk Extreme II 2GB CF Card - £15
  • SanDisk Extreme III 2GB CF Card - £24

Need/Want

  • Canon EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L IS USM - £800 w/rebate
  • Canon EF 100mm Macro USM - £350
  • Canon 1.4x teleconverter MkII - £200
  • Canon BG-E3 Battery Grip - £??
  • Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 - £60

Not at all urgent, wishlist

  • More memory cards
  • Canon 580EX II
  • Replacement kit lens
  • Some time in the distant future, a new body (for my camera, although a replacement human body would be good too).

How much money do you actually have? (I thought I’d make a comment, it feels a bit lonely on here).

Thanks for leaving the comment :-) It sure does get lonely, I wonder if anyone reads this at all some days.

How much? Not enough, that’s for sure. The 350D was a gift from my folks for my 21st and I’ve been saving/wanting the 100-400 from pretty much a month after I got the camera. So I haven’t really spent that much when it comes down to it (the Sigma was really just an intermediary lens).

Thanks to the maths department for paying me for supervisions, I have earned enough money this year to pay for it. So I’m not feeling too guilty about it at the moment, but I’m sure as soon as I send the cheque I will do.

What about the Uv and Polarising filters - I mean you went as far as to include all the batteries :-P
