Happy Holidays!

I don’t often appeal to the political correctness brigade, but to all of you out there who don’t believe in saying “Merry Christmas”, I hope you had a really nice holiday.

I was extremely happy to receive a lot more than was expected this year, and because so many people have now asked me what I got, inevitably lots and lots gets missed out. So if you’re interested, have a look at my present list!

To be honest, there’s an awful lot to keep me occupied and this just isn’t a good thing. I haven’t really done any work at all, but there is a plan now that some things are out of the way. Whether that plan actually succeeds or not is yet to be discovered, but we shall see!

  • The Canon Speedlite 430EX flashgun was my main present.
  • A complete surprise from my folks: the Canon iP6600D photo printer, which has some produced some really nice prints; plus a set of ink cartridges and some photo paper.
  • A carry-case for my CompactFlash cards, and a small CF USB stick for my laptop.
  • Another mini-maglite (honestly, you can’t have enough of these).
  • A bike helmet for when I get around to buying a bike.
  • The Planet Earth DVD set - possibly the best documentary series to have ever been produced.
  • Jeremy Clarkson’s The Good, The Bad and The Ugly DVD, along with his second And Another Thing… book.
  • The New Manual of Photography by John Hedgecoe.
  • A book that I can’t remember the name of offhand, but will now form the basis of my life decisions as it involves copious amounts of mathematics.
  • Vulcan 607 by Rowland White.
  • A Jack Daniels mirror, accompanied by two 35cl bottles of the bestest drink in the world.
  • Some deodorant (not a hint, I seem to get some every year) and a “preening kit”, whatever the hell that is.
  • Some tumblers, a couple of packets of amazingly lovely Cashew nuts and a nice Rock CD set.
  • A really nice shirt, t-shirt, jumper, dressing gown, scarf and jeans.

As you can see, this is really quite extensive and it’s much, much more than I was expecting; I certainly feel extremely grateful and lucky to have such amazing family and friends! A great big thanks to absolutely everyone that bought me anything or sent me a card, or even just talked to me on MSN from time to time. It’s been a really good Christmas this year - not because of the presents so much, just a break I really needed from last term. Right now I’m starting to feel a bit more rejuvenated and am even looking forward to getting stuck into everything again.

Anyway, enough of my ranting and raving - enjoy the rest of the break and I shall try to keep posting my photos on here!
